FAQ

What does BPAC stand for?
BPAC stands for Bowcroft Parents Action Committee

What is a Parents Action Committee?
A Parents Action Committee is a group of parents - along with the support of the teachers, students and other community representatives - who seek to work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of the entire school community and thereby to enhance student learning.

Riiiight... but what does it actually do?
Well, we spend a lot of time organizing fund raising events so we can financially assist Bowcroft. We organize a casino approximately once every 18 months - which is a big deal! We've also organized the Scholastic Book Fair, the Holiday Gift Shop, and the Entertainment Books to name a few. A great deal of time, energy, and volunteer support goes into each fund raising endeavor. Oh - and we've also added some Crazy Hair days and Pajama days to the 2015/16 calendar. Such fun!!

WOW! I never knew BPAC did so much for our school! Is there some way I can help out?
Absolutely!! We are always on the look out for volunteers! It's super easy to be a volunteer at Bowcroft. All you have to do is fill out a Criminal Record Check, hand it in to our lovely admin assistant, Barb, at the office and once it's cleared you're good to go! That IS easy! So I heard that BPAC meets at the school sometimes. What are the details about that?
Yup, we absolutely do. In fact we meet once a month. Generally we meet on the first Monday of the month at 7pm in the school library. Oh, but if the first Monday of the month happens to be a holiday, then we just meet on the Tuesday. You can check our calendar if you want to know the actual dates, just click here.
